CANY LANEX OFFSHORE CUP 2019 on the Waters of the Southern Baltic Sea
This year we also supported the seventh annual CANY LANEX OFFSHORE CUP 2019, held in Kühlungsborn, Germany, from 15 to 19 September 2019. The CANY LANEX OFFSHORE CUP is a monohull seaboat race designed for the B area (Offshore category according to ISO 12217-2). This challenging race was attended by 7 crews who, despite the bad weather and very strong wind conditions, fought very hard and arrived safely to the finish.
The anticipated route of the race was set out by the points of Kühlungsborn (GER), Bornholm (DEN), Christiansø (DEN), Kühlungsborn (GER) with a total length of about 350 NM.
For safety reasons, the race was divided into two stages, as the wind was blowing of up to 50 knots and waves reaching up to 3 m in height were expected. The second stage leading back started from the Dueodde Lighthouse after the weather had calmed down. Some of the crews were hit by hail on the way back, but even that did not discourage the brave participants to fight for the victory podium.
