How a rope is made
The core carries, the cover protects
Strength and zero stretch come from a core of HMPE fibres such as Dyneema or our stabilised Nexsteel. A polyester or Cordura cover protects it from abrasion and UV and gives the rope the grip that matters in the stopper and on the winch. Every core and cover combination is braided in Bolatice and tested on our own break-test machine.
Technical dataThe right diameter
One table for more than 4,000 boats
Halyard and sheet diameter follows hull length: 8 mm up to 8.5 metres, 16 mm on large yachts. The same bands we use to size ropes for boatbuilders drive our Boat selector. Enter your model and you get diameter and length for every position on deck.
